As part of our additional benefits, we are proud to offer our osteoarthritis program as part of our Healthy Weight for Life (HWFL) series.
HCi osteoarthritis management
Osteoarthritis management is all about improving the quality of life for HCi members with osteoarthritis.
The aim is to reduce joint pain, stiffness and swelling. This helps avoid or delay any invasive surgical procedures such as joint surgery and arthroscopy.
Our program is tailored to your needs and goes for 18 weeks. It is available at no additional cost to eligible members.
Within the HCi osteoarthritis management program, you can get:
A structured 3 phase program – each phase goes for 6 weeks
Nutritional therapy
Exercise therapy and physical activity support
Personalised health coaching
Weight and symptom tracking

Eligibility for HCi Osteoarthritis management program
The HCi osteoarthritis program is available for all HCi members and dependants who meet the following criteria:
- aged 18 or more
- have packaged HCi cover that includes joint replacement cover, namely
- Gold or Silver Plus hospital cover, AND
- Healthy extras, Premier extras or Top extras cover
- be up to date with premiums when starting and using the program
- have been an HCi member for at least 12 months
- are not, and have not been, in another HCi HWFL* program
- must have a BMI of 28 or higher
- have a diagnosis of osteoarthritis of the knee or hip
Note that a GP referral may be required.
Additional criteria may be applied by the program provider, Prima Health Solutions.
How do I access this program?
Once you meet the eligibility criteria listed above, you can complete the eligibility checker form. If you meet the physical requirements, you will be invited to arrange a call to discuss the program and its suitability for you.
* The HCi HWFL programs include Heart Health, Type 2 Diabetes management and Osteoarthritis management.
