The HCi Giveback program for members
As part of our promise to not profit from the COVID-19 pandemic, when claims were lower, HCi is giving back to our members through this program.
Great fees – delayed the lowest incrase in 20 years in 2020, no fee increase in 2023
Ensuring all HCi members with hospital cover were covered for COVID-19 related hospitalisations – regardless of their level of hospital cover, or which hospital they were admitted to
Helping cover some of the costs of Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) where members are required to pay for these themselves

Making additional premium relief available to eligible members experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19
Introducing benefits for a wide range of telehealth extras services for eligible extras members

HCi has not – and will not – profit from the pandemic, whether from delayed hospitalisations, or an inability of members to access treatment due to lockdowns in some regions throughout Australia. We continue to support our members during this difficult period and anticipate being able to return even further value to members over the coming 12 months.
Our vision is to make health insurance understandable, affordable and high quality. We do this by continuing to provide personalised service to our members, providing the best product benefits we can, and keeping premiums as low as possible.

How do I access HCi’s giveback program?We’re making it easy – you don’t have to do anything special to get the benefits of our giveback program. All reelvant offers will automatically be added to your memberhsip.

Am I eligible?
To be eligible, you need to meet the following criteria:
- hold HCi cover
- be over 18 years of age
- meet specific criteria for speciaif elements of the program
- have hospital cover for xxx
- deomnstrate financial hardship for fee relief
- etc
How will it help me? Can’t I just get my share as cash or reduced fees?
HCi giveback will help all members and overall will save you money through additional benefits or reduced premiums. For instance, HCi is one of only two funds not increasing fees in 2023.
We can’t just give a payout to members because the law says we can’t? And trying to find a fair way to distribute it could mean disadvantaging some members.
